Support needs
Consider the participant's daily living support, overnight needs, routines, communication preferences and any relevant health or safety requirements.
Ask about current SIL availability in Tasmania and whether a home, support model and living arrangement may suit the participant's needs.
A vacancy can open, close or become unsuitable as participant needs and household arrangements change.
AIC Services does not publish a fixed list of SIL vacancies on this page because current availability can change and a vacant room does not automatically mean the home is the right match for a participant.
For the most current information, call 1300 023 456 or email support@aicservices.com.au. Our team can discuss the participant's location preferences, daily support needs, routines, communication requirements and the practical details that matter before any next step is considered.
Availability is only one part of a suitable SIL arrangement.
Consider the participant's daily living support, overnight needs, routines, communication preferences and any relevant health or safety requirements.
Think about family connections, appointments, community access, transport and the areas that are practical for the participant.
A good match considers the participant's preferences, routines and the existing household. A vacancy alone is not enough to determine suitability.
Bring the information you already have about the participant's NDIS plan and goals. You do not need every answer before making an enquiry.
We start with the participant's needs and preferences rather than trying to fit a person into an available room.
When you contact AIC Services about SIL availability, we will first listen to what the participant is looking for. That may include the preferred area, the level and timing of support, daily routines, communication needs, community connections, transport, family involvement and the type of living environment that feels comfortable.
If there may be a suitable option, the next conversation can focus on the home, the support model, compatibility and the information needed to assess whether it is appropriate to continue. We do not promise placement simply because a vacancy exists.
AIC Services provides Supported Independent Living support. For general information about how SIL differs from other NDIS home-and-living options, use our Home & Living guide. For information about our SIL service, visit Supported Independent Living.
These guides can help you organise the questions and information that matter before deciding on a home or provider.
No. Availability can change, and suitability depends on more than whether a room is vacant. Contact AIC Services for the most current information.
No. A vacancy is only the starting point. Support needs, routines, location, household compatibility and other practical factors need to be considered before deciding whether to continue.
Yes. Families, nominees and other members of the participant's support network can contact AIC Services where appropriate. We keep the participant's preferences and involvement central to the conversation.
Call 1300 023 456 or email support@aicservices.com.au. Tell us the participant's preferred area and the main support needs you already know, and we can discuss the next step.
