NDIS provider choice

Can You Use More Than One NDIS Provider?

Learn how participants can work with more than one NDIS provider, how responsibilities can be divided, and what to clarify between providers.

The quick answer

Yes. Participants can work with different providers for different supports, and in some arrangements the same support category may be shared across providers. The important part is that each provider’s role, schedule, funding arrangement and responsibilities are clear.

Why people use more than one provider

A participant may prefer one provider for weekday in-home support, another for a specialist or community service, or different providers for different parts of their plan. Using more than one provider can offer flexibility, continuity options and access to different skills.

Keep roles and funding clear

Each provider should understand which supports they are responsible for, when they will deliver them and how they will be paid. Clear service agreements and communication reduce duplicated bookings, gaps in support and confusion about responsibilities.

Think about continuity and coordination

If several providers are involved, decide who needs to know about important routines, communication preferences, risks, appointments and handovers. Only share information that is necessary and that the participant has agreed to share.

When one provider delivers several supports

Some participants prefer the consistency of one provider for multiple supports. Others prefer different providers. The right arrangement depends on the participant’s goals, preferences, plan, availability and any requirements that apply to particular NDIS supports.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have different providers for different supports?

Yes. Participants can choose providers that suit their needs, subject to their plan, funding management and any rules that require a registered provider for a particular support.

Can two providers work in the same support category?

Some arrangements can involve more than one provider in the same support category. Funding, scheduling and responsibilities should be clear so supports are not duplicated or left uncovered.

Does AIC Services need to be my only provider?

No. A participant can discuss AIC Services for the supports AIC provides while continuing to use other providers where that suits their plan and preferences.
